How to Play Bready, Set, Stack!
Bready, Set, Stack! is a one-button timing game. A slice of bread slides back and forth above the stack, and you tap, click or press space to drop it. Where it lands decides everything: the closer to the middle of the slice beneath it, the better the drop and the more you earn. That is the whole game, and the difficulty comes from the tower itself, because the stack you build is the platform you have to hit next.
The basics
Start a run and the first slice hovers over the counter. Drop it whenever you like, since the first slice sets the width of everything above it. From then on, the slice you drop is trimmed to the overlap it shares with the slice below: land it dead centre and it keeps its full width, land it near the edge and the knife takes the overhang away. Each slice gets narrower than the last, so the window for a good drop closes as the tower rises. Miss the stack entirely and the run is over.
Scoring and crumbs
Every slice you land is worth XP towards your rank and crumbs into your wallet. A perfectly centred drop pays the most of both, and the payout falls away as the drop gets messier. Your best score is kept on the leaderboard, so a clean run is always worth chasing.
Ranks and progression
Ranks climb from 1 to 50 and keep going after that. The first rank-up asks for 100 XP, and every rank after it asks a little more, up to Rank 50 where the cost settles and stays the same for good. Each rank has its own badge, and your progress is shown on the home screen. Guests can play to Rank 10; after that, creating an account keeps your rank, crumbs and items together across devices.
The shop
Crumbs are spent in the shop on power-ups that change how the next drop behaves. Slow Motion eases the slice down so you have longer to aim, Perfect Snap pulls the drop dead centre the moment you release it, Whole Slice restores a slice to its original width, and Drag and Drop hands the slice to you to place by hand. Double Stack and Triple Stack land two or three whole slices at once, Restore takes your last drop back, and Extra Go gives you another attempt after the tower topples. Second Helping serves the whole stack up again at double the height for double the score, and timed boosts double every crumb and every bit of XP you earn while they run. Some of the strongest items are limited per day.
Tips for a taller tower
- Aim for the centre, not the edge. A centred drop keeps the slice wide, which makes the next drop easier too.
- Once the tower is narrow, slow the slice down. Slow Motion turns an impossible drop into a fair one.
- Spend Restore and Extra Go late in a run, when the tower is tall and losing it would cost the most.
- Save Second Helping for a tall, clean stack: it doubles whatever you have already built.
